Happy first Friday of 2018! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful holiday season and that your New Year is off to a great start.

Thanks to everyone who shared your favorite way to ring in the new year last week! It was fun to see how everyone celebrates!

This month I thought we could take a look at everyone’s favorite blogging tips, because I know you guys are a wealth of information. This weeks’ question is:

What’s your favorite way to find inspiration for your blog?

If you have any blogging-related questions you’d like to see asked here this month, please let me know and I’ll include them. We have a great opportunity to learn from and teach one another!

Blessings,

~Terri

  1. Ooo that’s a good question! Often it’s my own personal experience that will make me want to write something because I want to share what I’ve been through, I feel it may be useful, or I want to raise awareness of something. Also things I spot in the news that I think make good discussion points. How about you? x

    1. Thanks for sharing Caz! I’d say that like you, I want to share what I’ve been through/am going through in the hopes that it will help others. I also get a lot of inspiration from nature – I’m a huge nature-lover and it seems there are always so many lessons to be learned through it.😊

  2. Wow! I can’t wait to read the answers. I do write from personal experience but I also write about questions or concerns others have written me about… humans are fascinating! Just recently (in the last month), I started taking some copywriting courses, I developed a blog called Clean Write and am attempting to write ‘like a copywriter’… its a bit of a mess yet, but I’m getting the hang of it. I hope to one day write medical content that is straightforward, concise and helpful! (Yikes, I am nervous!) ~Kim

  3. I’m sometimes inspired by the daily prompt other times it might be something that comes up in conversation or overheard. I think there is material all around us, we just need to become observant!

  4. Evernote has been my brain since I became disabled. I have a notebook called Blog and subnotebooks under that. One of them is called Ideas. Whenever I read something online that intrigues me and/or I think would be interesting to my readers, I can quickly “clip” it to that Ideas notebook.

BTW, I like your blog’s new look, Terri.

    1. Thanks for sharing about Evernote Ellie! That’s definitely a great way to keep up with your ideas, much better than my method of jotting down ideas on everything from napkins to bank statements.😊 I’m glad you like the new look!

  5. Great question Terri! I like to write about personal experiences but also positive posts! I feel that with a world that is so full of negative actions, every bit of positivity can be truly helpful!!!

    1. Thanks so much for sharing! Isn’t it amazing how much inspiration is out there if we just pay attention? It’s also interesting how different things speak to different people. I’ve really enjoyed seeing where everyone gets their inspiration. Blessings to you!

  6. I would ditto all of the comments about things happening in my personal life. Also I get several devotional emails every day and I have a special email folder for all those things. And then when I need some inspiration I go looking for there!

  7. Going out, although I dislike going out lol. When i get out and about I see things (not visions or hallucinations ha ) and I meet people. So coupled with interesting places and interesting people I get inspiration. Or sometimes things just come into my head (now you’re beginning to worry ha) I’ll go now before I scare people 🙂 Great post sets you thinking 🙂

    1. Thanks for sharing Charlie! Isn’t it funny that the thing you don’t like doing is the thing that inspires you? Sometimes I’m surprised by the things that trigger a thought for a blog. 😊 See, you’re not the only one who has things just pop into your head ha ha!

  8. My brain is always on, hence I have enough “maybes” scribbled on scratch paper and tossed into my “Blog Ideas” folder to last (exaggeration alert) several millennia. The trick is picking which one to write today!

    1. Thanks for sharing Mitch! Having a brain that’s always on is a good thing. Mine doesn’t always cooperate.😊I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who scribbles notes and stashes them. I’ve even been known to scribble ideas on napkins at the coffee shop.😊 It sure is nice to have those little prompts when I have a case of writer’s block.

  9. I seem to have lots of ideas bubbling about and a list of ongoing ideas – sometimes too many. Somehow I ran out of ideas in early December and a long break was needed to recharge my batteries. I have a new long list of ideas…

Please tell me what you think!
